    We're Here!

Monday, June 16, 2008, 04:35 PM EST [General]

Okay, wow!!!  The last few weeks have been draining!!  I feel for my husband as he has had to go to work, at least I get to stay home, however I am working like crazy around the house. too

We left Utah on Saturday, May 31st and drove straight down.  That is a long drive.  Especially for me because I hate to drive.  It made it all good because I had my daughter (13) with me and we blasted the music in the car.  My husband doesn't like the radio loud.  We blasted and sang along to the Jonas Brothers - it was FUN!

On Sunday, I came to the house and cleaned like crazy until about 1:00 pm.  Then we got back on the road and started our long drive to Colorado to get our other stuff.  We stayed in Albuquerque, New Mexico - that is a longer drive than you think.  Thank goodness, I didn't have to drive there.  We only took the truck and my husband drove. However, no loud music for us to sing along with either.  Next day, Monday, June 2nd we continued our drive up to Colorado Springs.  We got in kind of early (4:00ish pm) and let the kids swim in the hotel pool for a while.

Next day, we were up and at it early.  Go get the U-Haul truck by 9:00 am and drive to the storage unit to start loading all our stuff. Wow!  That's a lot of stuff!  We started loading before 10:00 am and didn't finished until after 6 pm.  It was just my husband and I loading.  The poor kids!  I felt sorry for them being at the storage unit all day with us.  It was pretty boring for them most of the time.  They could help some but most stuff was too heavy or just big ackward boxes they couldn't carry.  I was grateful a few times, when some of the furniture was too heavy and I just needed a little extra help on my end.  They were great and stepped in to help.  We were all exhausted by the end of that day.

That night I started not feeling too well. I decided to try some Pepto to see if that would help.  Obviously, I didn't drink enough because by morning, it was terrible!!  Here we were supposed to start driving back to Arizona this morning and I have a terrible stomach ache.  I downed the rest of the bottle of Pepto in about 2 hours and finally started feeling somewhat better but not sure I was good enough to be on the road for hours at a time.

We finally got on the road about 1:30 pm.  My husband was driving the 26 foot U-Haul and I was driving his truck and towing our trailer behind the truck.  Did I mentioned I don't like to drive???  Especially towing a trailer (or anything else for that matter).  At least I could crank the stereo.

We had to make a few pit stops for me before leaving town but finally we got it going and my stomach seemed to calm down.  Thank goodness because that drive is bad enough without feeling sick.  Plus I had tons of work to do once we got back to Arizona.  Unloading the U-Haul and finding places for all our stuff - yikes!!!  We just got our final shipment of stuff from Utah on this Saturday (June 14) and need to go through that stuff too.

Well, we are finally somewhat settled.  We still have stuff in boxes but at this point I really don't care.

We got our daughter signed up with a soccer team and she seems really happy.  My kids are good kids and will hopefully make some good friends quickly.  Unfortunately, with the weather being so0o0o HOT right now, not many people are spending time outside during the day.

We are still hoping to get tickets to a Jonas Brothers show!!!  After all that, don't you think we deserve it!!!  I would love to get meet and greet access for my daughter.  She is a huge fan and would love meet the guys.  I'm a fan too and would enjoy meeting them also.  It would make this summer memorable in a good way and not in the way of moving away from all her friends.  Thanks to anyone who can help!

    Home for Sale - Colorado

Sunday, May 25, 2008, 12:08 PM EST [General]

Yeah!!!  The house in Colorado is finally and officially on the market.  My husband took a trip back to Colorado this weekend and signed all the papers.

Keep your fingers crossed that we have fast sale and for reasonable price.  I don't want to make killing on the sale price but I don't want to go the wrong direction either.  Just enough to put a down payment on a new home in Arizona would be great.  With the way the housing market is right now it is a little scary and I hope we come out okay.

    INTERESTED????

The movers/packers come this Thursday to pack up our stuff here in Utah.  The kids last day of school will be May 30th. My son will miss a week of school and my daughter will miss 3 days. She's disappointed that she will miss the end of year school dance.   : (

We leave on May 31st to drive to down, then we need to leave again on Sunday to drive back to Colorado and get all of our things we have left in storage there. It is going to be a crazy week. Get the coffee pot going!!!

Looking forward to a life in warm weather - Arizona here we come!

Again, I have to post this little bit because if I don't, I might regret it...  I really hope someone can help us out!

In case anyone reads this that can help... I am trying to get tickets to the Jonas Brothers show for my daugher.  She is a huge fan and with this summer being so crazy I would love to be able to get her to their concert!  I (and she) would be grateful!!!  She is struggling with another major move (our 3rd state) in less than 2 years and this would be a great welcome to Arizona gift.  Please help if you can!  She was very sad on Saturday, her and I took down all of her Jonas Brothers posters from her bedroom walls.  She had well over 200 on the walls and a stack of others she didn't want to put up just knowing she'd have to take them down soon.  We managed to save them all (a few rips but nothing tape couldn't fix).  When she went to bed she said she didn't think she'd be able to sleep with her walls so plain and not being able to rollover and peek out at the Jonas Brothers.  I think she managed but that is the mind of 13 year old girl.    Again, if anyone is able to help out with tickets, meet & greet access that would be so awesome!!!!

Have a super day and a safe holiday weekend.
